Civic Traditions

Over the last 20 years, Civic Design Studio has been a part of culture bearing in the Bay Area through hundreds of public art displays and cultural celebrations. Now we focus on 3 annual “Civic Traditions.” These traditions root us in our mission of bringing together communities and sectors towards neighborhood improvements and cultural advancement across the Bay Area.

Creative Expo

Now in it’s 7th year, the Creative Expo has become an annual celebration with Oakland Unified School District, Peralta Colleges, dozens of creative community organizations, and hundreds of youth artists from arts, media, entertainment, fashion, music and more

Civic Summer Studio

Entering it’s 5th year, Civic Summer Studio brings together top youth artists with master mentor artists and community leaders to work on “impact projects” in local neighborhoods

Harvest Festival

As a part of “Propa,” our multiyear arts ecology and education initiative, the Harvest Festival brings together schools and their neighboring community to learn about and celebrate a school farm, creek and fabrication lab that is our home base
